Planet Earth: Wonder, Awe, & Rejuvenation

9:00 am – 3:00 pm MDT
Let's face it: It's been a tough school year. In the rush of the daily grind, we can forget the value of appreciating the beauty and wonder of our planet and sharing that with our students as a powerful motivator for learning. This summer, we invite you to join us as we take a break from your standard teacher workshop and offer a day for you to reconnect with yourself, your peers, and the mystery of what makes the Earth a special place to live.
Learn with your colleagues in the spectacular environs and vista views of the NSF NCAR Mesa Lab and start your summer on a high note. From a teaching perspective, we'll use the NGSS Crosscutting Concepts as our guide for building students' conceptual understanding of Earth systems, using these concepts as a tool for helping learners think like scientists. Yes, we'll make sure you walk away with teaching resources to inspire your students, but we'll also take the time for you to reconnect to the beauty of the world when we need it the most.
For teachers grades K-12.
Fee: $30. Lunch provided
