Heat waves, urban heat, drought, and increased heat related health impacts are shared experiences in our communities today. Join us to discover how we might use this new reality as an engaging phenomenon to peak student interest and curiosity, not only to understand the science behind a warming environment, but also to explore solutions and actions that can make a difference. 

We will share activities to engage students around the topic of heat, as well as ways to include local heat phenomena as an anchor for place-based investigations of science concepts.
