This blacklight emits purple light that you can see. It also gives off invisible, ultraviolet (UV) "light". UV light is a form of electromagnetic radiation. UV radiation has higher energy, shorter waves, and a higher frequency than visible light. UV radiation is just past the purple light that we can see in its position in the electromagnetic spectrum.
